Three Peaks and a Half Iron Man

Paul Soper

Five years ago Paul Soper ran the London Marathon in aid of WheelPower.  This year he decided to challenge himself twice...

My memory of running the London Marathon s now is one of joy, such a fantastic day, beautiful sunshine, and thousands of people all out with one thing in mind and that was to raise as much money as possible for their chosen charity or to support people along the way.

So this year a new challenge has arisen and this time just the thought of it scares me. Firstly starting on the 27th of May with a group of 9 others we are trying to complete the 3 Peaks Challenge which involves climbing the highest mountain in each of the 3 countries (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) in under 24hrs.

Hopefully there will be no ankel twisting in the night climbs as on the 20th of June I'm Competing in the Wimbleball Half Ironman. This event covers 70.3 miles and is a glorified Triathlon, it involves swimming 1.2 miles followed by 56 mile bike ride then rounded off with a nice half marathon at the end (13.1 miles nice). Its known to be the toughest Half Ironman in the world with the cycling taking in over 50 hills alone. This is also my first Triathlon and my swimming training hasn't yet begun (22/03/2010)

I will be trying to raise as much money as possible for WheelPower the same charity who I ran for back in 2005, and Kindly they have provided me with unlimited use of their pool to help with my training over the next few months.

Please, please, please sponsor me for this great charity and to help see me across that finish line on the 20th of June.
