Great Britain Men’s Squad announced for Final Selection Camp
The Great Britain Men’s squad has been whittled down to just 21 players who will be invited to attend the final selection camp at Stoke Mandeville from Tuesday 30th March until Saturday 3rd April. Following this camp the Great Britain squad for the 2010 World Championships, held in Birmingham in July, will be chosen.
Amongst the 21 players selected for the next camp is 15 year old Harry Brown from Sheffield Steelers, having represented Great Britain at junior level he is one of the youngest players to have ever got through to these final stages of the Great Britain Senior Men’s setup.
Great Britain Men’s Head Coach, Murray Treseder, said, “The skill and talent that all the men in the Great Britain development setup has been really strong and increasing at every camp which is very pleasing to see.”
“The athletes that have been selected for final camp have shown real determination and motivation to get through.”
“It shows that the programme we have is working when we have players as young as 15 years old up to 46 year old are competing for places in the Great Britain team as it seeks to improve on its bronze medal obtained at the Beijing Paralympics.”
