Leicestershire and Rutlands Disability Athletics Festival
Leicestershire and Rutlands popular Disability Athletics Festival is back again!!
Leicestershire &Rutland Athletics Association in partnership with Leicester-shire & Rutland Sport is hosting the fourth annual festival at Saffron Lane Stadium, Leicester on Tuesday 27th April 2010.
This year we will be pioneering a variation of the UK Athletics new multi-event scheme - "Quad Kids" (meaning four events) for adults and young people with physical and learning difficulties. The day also provides additional opportunities for exciting relays and the return of the popular "Height Bean Bag throw" – this event is exciting for participants and spectators as the bar gets higher and higher. Get further details of how to enter on the attached flyer.
Advance entries are welcome from individuals of all ages and from organisations bringing a “team”. Please contact Aslam or Kate (details on the attached flyer) for further information and an entry form. There will be no entries on the day. All participants will receive a certificate. Spectators are welcome - just come and watch from 10.00am - 2.30pm.
The meeting will also provide the opportunity for the organisers to select young athletes to represent the County on 8th May at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham for a further challenge against a Warwickshire team. Participants who want to develop their athletics performances further will be encouraged and supported to join local clubs.
