New opportunity to enable more disabled people to play sport

With the 2012 London Paralympics taking place later this year WheelPower-British Wheelchair Sport are seeking a Sports Development Officer to help deliver the legacy of the Paralympics now and in the future.

WheelPower – British Wheelchair Sport is the National Disability Sport Organisation (NDSO) for wheelchair sport which help to get wheelchair users and physically impaired people active in sport. This is achieved through a range of sporting events and opportunities and these are delivered by this important role as the Sports Development Officer.

WheelPower is looking for a motivated and dedicated professional with a good understanding of the sector, as well as a desire to work within sport for disabled people and a passion for organising events, aimed primarily at young and newly disabled people. Due to the type of role, impairment specific knowledge of wheelchair users and amputees would be a distinct advantage but is not essential.
