Shuker runner-up in Korea Open doubles

Lucy ShukerBritain's Lucy Shuker has finished with runners-up honours in the women's doubles at the Korean Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships in Seoul.

The British No 1 and Australia's Daniela di Toro, runners-up in the 2009 women's wheelchair doubles at The Championships, Wimbledon, found Korean home favourites Myung-Hee Hwang and Ju-Yeon Park too strong in Saturday's final, with Hwang and Park taking the ITF 1 Series title 6-3, 6-3.

Earlier in the week world No. 12 Shuker was a semi-finalist in the women's singles before losing out to world No. 6 and second seed di Toro, who went on to clinch that title earlier in the day on Saturday.

Meanwhile, fellow Beijing Paralympian Alex Jewitt was a men's singles semi-finalist at the Bulle Indoors in Switzerland, his first tournament in nine months after returning from injury.
Jewitt beat French opponents Frederic Decorvet 6-0, 6-1 and third seed Laurent Fischer 6-4, 6-4 in his two matches during Friday's opening day of play at the ITF Futures Series tournament. However, the former world No 26 had his encouraging return to action halted in Saturday's semi-finals when he was beaten 6-2, 7-5 by Swiss No 1 and current world No 27 Daniel Pellegrina.

Jewitt is now scheduled to continue his comeback at the 2010 National Wheelchair Tennis Championships, due to take place in Gloucester from Friday, 28th May to Bank Holiday Monday, 31st May.
