WheelPower - transforming lives through sport
Each year many thousands of men, women and children become disabled due to an accident or illness. WheelPower is the national charity for wheelchair sport and helps these people and many others with disabilities to achieve their sporting dreams.

WheelPower provides accessible facilities at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium, the “home of Wheelchair Sport” including an Athletics Arena, Sports Hall, Indoor Bowls Centre, Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre.  On site accommodation in the Olympic Lodge and the Olympic Village is suitable for a wide range of disabilities and is complemented by meeting and conference facilities and catering for events of all sizes.

Tour de Vale Bike Ride
New date: 12 July 2009.  We had to postpone this years ride because of poor weather.  If you entered the original ride, we will write to you.  It is possible to sign up for the ride - follow the link to read about the 15 or 30 mile family rides or the challenging 55 mile route through lovely villages and countryside.

time to shine
WheelPower and the host boroughs of London 2012 are arranging 'Tme to Shine at Stoke Mandeville Stadium from the 28 – 31 of July 2009.  Click here to enter.
 
WheelPower aims to take up to 250 young people with disabilities to Stoke Mandeville as part of an initiative to increase awareness of, and activity in, a number of sporting and cultural activities.  

Wheel Appeal
We aim to raise £6-million, enough money to provide over two thousand sports wheelchairs to disabled children and young adults by the time the Paralympics return ‘home’ in August 2012.
