Angling is for everyone

Angling is the largest participation sport in Britain, with four million people fishing each year, thousands of these have a disability.

Anyone with a physical, sensory or learning disability can participate in angling. The British Disabled Angling Association is developing a classification system that aims to bring a level playing field to the sport.

Disabled angler Jules Bellew looks at the issues faced by disabled anglers in this video and how a few small changes can make a massive difference:

 

Due to the vast popularity of angling, there are many clubs up and down Britain that can cater for athletes with disabilities. The British Disabled Angling Association (BDAA) develops opportunities for disabled people of all ages and abilities to access the activity of fishing in the UK.
