Surfing for everyone
Surfing England has many affiliated surf schools that offer adaptive/para surfing, this includes many specifically set up with disabilities in mind with the best equipment, facilities and trained coaches to offer great surf experiences and coaching.
Surfing and Accessibility in the UK
Many surf centres across the UK are equipped to support a wide range of disabilities, offering adapted equipment that makes it easier and more enjoyable to take part. This includes surfboards with chest risers for prone surfing, seated surfboards, wetsuits with accessible zips to simplify changing, and beach wheelchairs to help individuals reach the water with ease.
Surfing England has also partnered with accredited surf centres to launch a Para Surfing Roadshow, which takes place throughout the summer and visits six locations across the country. These events provide an opportunity for people with disabilities to try surfing for the first time in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Each roadshow is hosted by accredited surf centres and delivered by Team England Para coaches who are highly experienced professionals who also train our elite para surfers competing on the international stage.
