Inclusive PE resources for physically disabled pupils

The Awards Scheme gives PE teachers, SENCO’s, SGO’s, and support staff, everything they need to run wheelchair sport in school.  Pupils learn new skills, grow in confidence and have fun being active.

There are activities for 6 sports: wheelchair tennis, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair badminton, table tennis, bocci and athletics, that have been written in partnership with each National Governing Body.

How does the scheme work?

These Award have been written for both primary and secondary pupils.  Age and wheelchair type do not decide what a pupil can do; what matters is what each pupil can do.

There are three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold.  Each level has 12 activities within each, and pupils complete 8 of them to earn the award.   You can change any activity to suit each pupil.

Each activity has a short video showing how it works.  Scan the QR codes in the Teacher Handbook to watch them or find them on the Resources page once you’ve registered.
