Learn to Play Golf with WheelPower in association with Get Golfing. 

A brand new event from WheelPower that is open to anyone 16+ with a physical disability. But don’t worry – this isn’t expecting you to play the course straight away! This is about introducing (or re introducing) yourself to golf again, and in a way that 100% takes your disability into account.

Example Timetable

Please arrive before 10am and receive welcome hot drink drink with pastries and fruit.

10 – 11am (Activity 1) Coaching on the Driving Range 
Whether you’re a wheelchair user, or able to swing a club from a standing position the qualified instructors at Get Golfing will be on hand to provide 1-2-1 tuition to perfect the your shot from the tee.

11 – 12pm (Activity 2) Putting Skills and Challenge 
Perfect a putting technique on the greens that works for you.

12 – 1.30pm (Lunch) A FREE BBQ will be provided by the lakeside clubhouse.

1.30 – 2.30pm (Activity 3) Pitching & Chipping Challenges 
Add to your learning experience and hone your chipping skills with other clubs in the bag.

2.30 – 3.30pm (Activity 4) Playing a hole on the course 
With all the skills learned now its time to take on a fully accessible hole on this stunning course.

Parking and Toilets 

There is accessible parking on site, with toilets and a changing area situated in the clubhouse. Further disabled toilets will be beside the driving range*

Clothing advice

Please be prepared for all weathers! From waterproofs to a sun cap and sun cream. Warm and comfortable clothing that gives you the freedom to be able to swing a golf club is a must.

Wet Weather Plan

If the weather forecast is for heavy rain throughout the day this event may be cancelled at short notice and rearranged for the following week, Wednesday 22 May. In this eventuality the event organisers will be in touch.
